Tableaux bleus à Mathaux

Deux tableaux dans l'église de Mathaux proviennent de l'Abbaye de Basse-Fontaine de l'ordre des Prémontrés qui a été fermée à la fin du 18ème siècle. Le Christ au pressoir a fait l'objet d'une restauration. Le Calvaire est en attente mais laisse d'ores et déjà apparaître une belle oeuvre. Ces deux tableaux sont proposés dans le cadre du réseau "Blue Monday".

Two paintings in the church of Mathaux come from the Abbey Basse-Fontaine closed during the 18th century. I post them for the "Blue Monday" bloggers community.

Une détail très étrange dans le tableau du "pressoir" : le lion le boeuf et l'ange qui recrachent le sang dans des calices.

Tout est symbole. On retrouve trois des quatre évangélistes avec le lion, le boeuf et le jeune homme.
